Do not let this be the last chapter of Christianity in Iraq. The Iraqi Christians are one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. They still speak Aramaic, the language of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This project is dedicated to providing water, food, medicine, shelter (rebuilding of Karamles, a Supreme project) for the returning Iraqi Christian refugees of Nineveh plain, where ISIS devastated the area. A project just implemented provided 80 wheelchairs and 150 walking sticks for the disabled & elderly in the Christian area of Qaraqosh & Karamles through The Holy Family Center. Thanks to St Agnes Tsao Chinese Council, St. Joseph Chaldean Council & St. Joseph Syriac Council and many other councils that donated. Another project urgently needed and awaiting your council participation is to provide chronic illness medication for diabetes and blood pressure on a monthly basis for the elderly for Iraqi Christians in the Nineveh plain.

The visit of Holy Father Pope Francis to Iraq
“Today we raise our voices in prayer to Almighty God for all the victims of war and armed conflict. Here in Mosul, the tragic consequences of war and hostility are all too evident. How cruel it is that this country, the cradle of civilization, should have been afflicted by so barbarous a blow, with ancient places of worship destroyed and many thousands of people – Muslims, Christians, Yazidis and others – forcibly displaced or killed! Today, however, we reaffirm our conviction that fraternity is more durable than fratricide, that hope is more powerful than hatred, that peace more powerful than war. This conviction speaks with greater eloquence than the passing voices of hatred and violence, and it can never be silenced by the blood spilled by those who pervert the name of God to pursue paths of destruction.” Holy Father
